10 Mistakes that can break you as an Entrepreneur

I happen to come across another great post relating to Entrepreneurship, which is a current trend due to the state of our economy, and had to share it with all of you in my network. In case you are wondering, I tend to post great articles on this blog that have to deal with Entrepreneurship for 2 reasons:

1. Archive these articles for my own purposes of referring back to them as reference

2. To share with the community

Here is the ever insightful article written by NEIL PATEL on DECEMBER 28, 2009 CALLED "10 bUSINESS MISTAKES THAT WILL NEARLY BREAK YOU..LITERALLY" (CLICK LINK BELOW)

http://www.quicksprout.com/2009/12/28/10-business-mistakes-that-will-nearly-break-you-literally/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+Quicksprout+(Quick+Sprout)

The dilemma we face is we as Entrepreneurs always hear about the success stories of all the famous entrepreneurs, but rarely do we ever hear about the mistakes. Those that do not LEARN from these mistakes are more inclined to repeat them in future business ventures which is why this article is very important. Enjoy

How do you define Entrepreneurs?

social-entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurship, relentless-entrepreneurs, relentless-entrepreneurs

Along the social networking for business journey, I have been thinking a lot lately some questions that are typically associated with entrepreneurs. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the following questions:

1. Do you think Entrepreneurs are made or born?
2. What common trait do you think all Entrepreneurs share?
3. Do you know of any good schools that teach Entrepreneurship?
4. Should all business students be exposed to this sort of class?

Please let me know your opinions on these and I will then share mine. cheers

Why High Tech Start-Ups Don't Go To Market

social networking, social media san diego, social entrepreneur, social entrepreneurship, social ceo

Why is it that most start-up tech companies don't figure out how to go to market before they create the "all singing, all dancing" solution?

This is a response i did on a linked-in discussion and thought is was relevant enough for a blog post. Enjoy

Our society has a HUGE diss-connect among technical and non-technical people. This is ESPECIALLY bad for business. While twitter is the HOTTEST app ive seen in all my 10 years in Business and IT, I have FINALLY found something i am genuinely passionate about (yes I am an Entrepreneur) more than providing IT consulting services to businesses (quite frankly anyone’s brother or nephew can do that now and i got burnt out) so our current start-up is http://www.socialnetworkingsandiego.com/ in case you are wondering. Our site is a work is progress, BUT we are developing a large following from the business community, LISTENING to what they want, and we are putting out good content which helps. I have been in the social media consulting trenches now for 7 months and it is TOUGH work: Strategy, Market analysis, SWOT, IT, marketing, Sales, Computer science, working with programmers, designers... The list goes on.

What I CAN say is that we are addressing the REAL problem as Doug mentioned: 80% of company websites don't generate traffic. Because of my Business background and IT, i have been able to provide an all encompassing solution in a holistic manner with "systems" we have developed. We will see where things go, but so far off to a promising 3rd quarter. Any feedback for me? Agree/ Dis-agree? Gary Vee At It Again- A Fellow Social Entrepreneur Who Really Gets It

@Garyvee on twitter has hit on some very good points about how ahead of the curve we all are for providing social media consulting to businesses. Its a little further into the video but make sure you listen up when he talks about the effects of social media for the corporate landscape. We are going to get so busy soon, i feel it. These corporations will be needing our services and you can bet all our sweat equity we have been building over the years will finally pay off :) He touches on some very good points that i have been making as well.
cheers, and maybe enjoy this with a nice glass of wine from http://tv.winelibrary.com/
